Matthew Ronowitz

A Passion for Pembrokeshire food

Matthew Ronowitz grew up in the scenic county-side of Pembrokeshire. After starting his career washing up at the age of 13 in the Pam Pam Restaurant (now The Qube).

He continued to work his way up and took over as manager of Blueberry’s Tenby, at just 17 years old. The owners, Matt and Ruth Goldwait were both highly regarded for their success in the restaurant business and inspired Matthew to gain as much experience of front of house management and chef skills in the kitchen.

Wanting to experience different cuisines, Matt worked in restaurants across Worcester and then on to the Val d’isere in the French Alps. On returning to Pembrokeshire, he worked alongside Chris and Annette Wooles at Redberth Lodge, known for their superb Sunday lunches and then went onto the Stone & Crab in Saundersfoot as head chef at the rustic seafood restaurant with Mark & Susan Phillips.

Branching out on his own, Matt started managing The Reef Restaurant, Tenby, later rebranded as Ronni’z Wine bar. When the opportunity arose to own and manage, The Qube Restaurant (originally The Pam Pam restaurant) Matthew took it in his stride.

In 2010, Matthew and his business partner and wife, Claire, set up Tenby Hog Roast finding a gap in the local market for a high quality outside catering company. The beginnings of Qube Catering. Matthew and Claire have a passion for working with local people and serving local produce.
